Swahili/English HIV/AIDS +++ ![]() Read the free e-book!Mungu ni Upendo. - God is Love. Waraka wa kwanza was Yohana/1 John 4:8/16 Pray for Africa and the safety of the many varied language speakers of the continent. Here is a start for some wordings gleaned from English and Swahili Bibles and other sources for Swahili speakers and those that need to communicate with them. Pray that more Swahili health wordings will be added here without 'mistakes' and that readers will find and discern truthful witnessing and truthful information. Please pray regarding all health threats including: eye diseases, malaria, typhoid, cholera, bilharzia, AIDS, other STDs and avian flu. Swahili - EnglishSwahili=KiswahiliSee the free e-book for why these words are here. a) Usiguse hiki! - Do not touch - Wakolosai/Colossians 2:21 b) Utafunika uso wako. Cover...your face! Bible Source: Ezekieli/Ezekiel 12:6 "Cover your face." is a wording found in the Bible and is an important wording in airborne epidemics. Sometimes the translations include words that have similar but different meanings. That is the case here: sometime the sentence includes 'face' and sometimes 'beard'. c) For AIDS/SIDA there is: ABC-D A is for Abstinence B is for Being faithful C is for condoms (D is for medical drugs (pediatric etc.)) Pole Sana (Very sorry!) are condolences for those who have lost a loved one. A: Ikimbieni zinaa. Kila dhambi aitendayo mwamadamu ni nje ya mwili wake; ila yeye afanyaye zinaa hutenda dhambi juu ya mwili wake mwenyewe. Stay away from sexual sins. Other sins that people commit don't affect their bodies the same way sexual sins do. 1 Wakorintho/Corinthians 6:18 B: Mwenye haki aendaye katika unyofu wake, Watoto wake wabarikiwa baada yake. The righteous man leads a blameless life; blessed are his children after him. Mithali/Proverbs 20:7 (Adaption (implied in the Proverb): The righteous woman leads a blameless life; blessed are her children after her. Knowing the word woman and man, you can probably substitute one for the other. Maybe the word for "him" is the same as for "her". You would need to check it out. woman=mwanamke) C: uume - penis govi - glans (of penis) kitchwa cha uume - urethral opening mapumbu - scrotum You can write: Cover ....your penis. Adapt from 'Cover your face.' French: - Couvre le/ton penis German - Bedecke... den Penis. Italian - Ti coprirai... il pene. Spanish - Cubrirás...tu pene. Swahili - Utafunika uume wako. (Your(sing.)= wako with a noun starting in u-) (Confirm this sentence before using it.) (Adding a wording "With a condom" or a picture of a condom would help to make the sentence more unambiguous. A picture of a condom with a tiny hole and an x through it being thrown in a garbage can can also help for those that may think condoms can be used anyway or reused.) D) (Basi) chagua uzima, ili uwe hai, wewe na uzao wako! Choose life, so that you and your children WILL live. Kumbukumbu La Torati/Deuteronomy 30:19 basi=and so chagua=choose uzima=life ili=so that uhai=live hai=alive na=and wewe=you (sing.) uzao=offspring -ako=your You can adapt this sentence to: Choose ABC-D so that you and your children WILL live. (Basi) chagua ABC-D, ili uwe hai, wewe na uzao wako! More adaptions: Choose life, so you and my child will live. (Basi) chagua uzima, ili uwe hai, wewe na mtoto wangu! Choose life so my child will live. (Confirm) (Basi) chagua uzima, ili uwe hai, mtoto wangu! Choose life so your child will live. (Basi) chagua uzima, ili uwe hai, mtoto wako! (Confirm) Fanya hivi nawe utaishi. Do this and you (1) will live. - Luka/Luke 10:28 Fanyeni hive, mkaishi. - Do this and you(2,2+) will live. - Mwanzo/Genesis 42:18 If a pregnant woman has AIDS, she can take special medicines and keep her child safe from AIDS.
